Uppstart is a free and informal event in Uppsala aimed at those interested in technology start-ups. The events are held 3 times per year and attract hundreds of people with different backgrounds including students, entrepreneurs, startups, investors and key members of the tech start-up community.

There’s music, a bar, pitches from start-ups and a live on-stage discussion to watch with world class panelists from the tech start-up world.

The Panelist

Tim Jackson, Partner of Lean Investments

Early stage investor, Tim Jackson, has had a prolific career, his most notable success being QXL, an e-commerce marketplace which he founded and sold in 2007 for 2 billion dollars. Tim now invests actively in start-ups through his investment company Lean Investments.

Staffan Helgesson, General Partner of Creandum

Aside from being partner at Creandum one of the most well known Swedish VC’s who have backed companies such as Spotify, iZettle, Tictail, Narrative & Hansoft (to name a few!), Staffan is a self-confessed ‘Startup Lover’ and acts on the board for many start-ups. He’ll be sharing his wealth of knowledge and experience with us all.

Sabina Wizander, Investment Manager at Creandum

Sabina is the latest addition to the Creandum team joining them in Jan, and has a diverse background. Previously she has consulted for McKinsey & Company in San Fransisco, as well as having positions previously at Red Bull, Connecta, and Handelsbanken. Sabina will be telling us about her new position and telling us about what she looks for in start-ups raising money.
